Could organic sculptures come from code?

This series of sculptures was designed procedurally using Processing.

Each layer of the transverse-laminate structure was output to PDF and cut from baltic birch ply on a laser cutter, then aligned and glued together by hand.

The resulting structures bring human flaws and limitations to a design and material which are beyond human levels of precision and repeatability.
