Bíldudalur/Silence
This piece is inspired by the intensely wild, open space I encountered in the rural Westfjords of Iceland, while taking part in the Dionysía residency there.
I made ambient field recordings in locations throughout the nearly-empty village of Bíldudalur and its surrounding mossy hills and plains, and then placed them on a digital map. Viewers manipulate their location on the map, hearing whatever sound mix corresponds to that location.
