Columbia College Faculty
From 2006 to 2010 I was faculty at Columbia College Chicago's MFA program in Music Composition for the Screen, led by Grammy-Award-winning music supervisor and composer Andy Hill (The Lion King, Anastasia, James and the Giant Peach, My First Mister).
As part of this position, I developed and taught a two-year music-technology graduate course, covering digital production, mixing and mastering, synthesis, sampling, audio engineering and editing. Additionally I administered a professional software qualifications programme (Apple Certified Pro) for the college's music department.
Working with Andy I co-designed and implemented a “creative technology” lab space for graduate students, including managing hardware and software purchasing, and installing and administering a local network server (this was before cloud computing was a thing).
Graduates of our program have secured work with Hollywood A-list composers (Hans Zimmer, Mark Isham, John Powell, Michael Giacchino, Javier Navarrete) and major television networks.
